What’s missing from many female wrestling companies are these formulaic and creative liberties to engage an audience:
ORIGINALITY
THE BELIEF OF AUTHENTICITY
PLAYFUL DANGER
PASSION FOR THE WORK
EXCITEMENT
I belong to copious amounts of female wrestling sites, groups and chat rooms. Much of the conversation has shifted to fans who are bored and unstimulated. Fans who watch the same action, moves and cheesy, poorly acted unoriginal plots.
Fans like me, who hope something new will pique our interest, are left empty and begrudgingly resentful as we settle for content that is stale and flat. Even some of the women seem jaded and uninterested, most likely due to a lack of directing or investment in a project besides drawing a paycheck.
